The b&b is located on a lovely, quiet street away from the hustle & bustle of the city centre. It’s a beautiful b&b and it has the real feel of being at home rather than a hotel, it was comfortable and cosy. The hotel is situated about 20/30 minutes walk from Edinburgh city centre but it’s a nice walk. Mike and Caroline were so welcoming and friendly, making sure we were okay every time we saw them. Mike was very helpful about the area too, where we could get the buses from if needed and also recommend an Indian restaurant nearby (Ronaq) and it was a delicious! There are buses nearby if you don’t fancy the walk which are fairly cheap for an adult single. Our room was perfect for our three night stay with everything that we needed. The bed was so so comfy! It was absolutely perfect to collapse into in after a long day visiting the attractions. The bathroom had a spacious shower with big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available to use. Big jars of coffee & tea were provided in the room too, not the little sachets you can sometimes get, so it was a bonus if you drink a lot of tea/coffee. The breakfast was spot on every morning, I really looked forward to it. It was a traditional Scottish breakfast (sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, tomato, mushrooms & a potato scone). There were a selection of cereals, freshly made coffee, tea, orange juice, fresh fruit and yoghurt to choose from too. I can’t recommend Carmichael enough, it was perfect for our entire stay! I would definitely stay again if we came back to Edinburgh

What I probably liked the most was the really friendly reception and general interaction with Michael. He did everything in his power to make our stay as pleasant as he could. The breakfast was self-made every day and he made sure to check the time when we would wanna eat it every day too. Adaptations to the Scottish breakfast were no problem and when we were unsure about which time to take breakfast, he also offered an alternate time from the usual time if it was what we had wanted. We were staying in a rather small room with a separate bath, but it was very cozy still. :3

Lovely and comfortable stay at Carmichael, the hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable and the location was ideal as we were looking for somewhere peaceful to stay with great public transport links in to the city centre. Breakfast plentiful and delicious, we looked forward to filling up each morning! Our stay was a mixture of sightseeing and my husband taking a language exam and the good news is we just found out he passed. Would recommend this B&B, many thanks again :)

It was so close to the Murrayfield Stadium which truly was a blessing. We stayed there during the three nights of T. Swift concert and to be able to walk from and to the venue lifted a huge weight of our shoulders. Mike and Caroline (if I remember correctly) were so kind, and such great hosts. The breakfast was amazingly delicious. The rooms and beds were super comfy, and overall was a rather pleasant experience. Thank you so much!

We began our visit to Scotland at Carmichael B&B, and what a wonderful beginning! Carmichael is so lovely and comfortable. The landscaping, especially the flowers, was beautiful. Michael & Caroline are delightful hosts and were very helpful. We enjoyed hearing about their home and family. Our Scottish breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed porridge and potato scones, as well as everything they served!
